# Find a student's username

To find a student's username, open 'Students' and click the student. The username shows under their name, with their email in brackets if it's different.

**For:** teachers

### Find the username on 'Students'

1. Open 'Students'.
2. Click the student.
3. Read the username under their name.

Select a student on 'Students' to see their name, username and email, and the tabs 'Dashboard', 'Sessions', 'Activity' and 'Licenses'. If your district lets teachers manage rosters, you'll also see a pencil to edit their details and a '...' menu with 'Reset Password' and 'Remove from Class'.

### Usernames and email addresses

A student's username may or may not be their email address, depending on how the account was set up.

### If the student also needs a new password

Nobody can look up a student's current password; a new one is set. The ways to get a student a new password are in [A student can't sign in](https://support.orilearning.com/knowledge/student-cant-sign-in?hsLang=en).
