On the student's progress page, open the lesson or assessment and click 'Retake Lesson' or 'Retake Assessment', then 'Confirm Retake'. The student sees it on their Home with '(Retake)', and the new grade replaces the old one. **For:** teachers ### Before you start - The student has finished the lesson or assessment, and the course is still assigned to them. - There's no limit on retakes, but a student can have only one retake open at a time. ### Assign a retake 1. Click 'Students' at the top, then click the student. 2. Under 'Assigned Courses', click the course. 3. On the left, click the lesson or assessment. 4. Click 'Retake Assessment' (or 'Retake Lesson'). 5. Click 'Confirm Retake'. The button reads 'Retake Assessment' for an assessment and 'Retake Lesson' for a lesson. ### What the student sees The retake appears on the student's 'Home' as a separate item marked '(Retake)', for them to do at their own pace. It carries the lesson title, for example 'Pre-Assessment (Retake)'. The student doesn't need to be removed from anything first. The new score replaces the old one, even if it's lower. Other students' results don't change. When the student finishes a retake, the button is offered again. ### What can't be retaken The Skills Inventory Survey can't be retaken, and there's no retake for an item the student never did in a session. ### If you assign the lesson again in a new session A new session starts the lesson fresh for the student, from page one, with all answers blank. The new result replaces the old one in 'Progress', even if it's lower, and it doesn't use another license. A student who doesn't redo it ends at 0%.
