# See your class's assessment results (the gradebook)

Your class's gradebook is the course's 'Progress' tab, not 'Sessions'. Each student has a row, and each column is an item: 'Course Grade', 'Pre-Assessment', each unit's lessons and assessments, and the post-assessment.

### Open your class's gradebook

1. Click 'Courses' and click the course.
2. Make sure your class is chosen in the menu at the top.
3. Open the 'Progress' tab.
4. Scroll down to the student rows.

Finished items show a green score.

### Who has a row, and what the course grade counts

Students assigned the whole course appear in 'Progress' as soon as you assign it, with empty cells until they start. Other students in the class appear once they finish a single lesson from the course. Students who haven't done any work in the course don't have a row.

If 'Course Grade' stays empty after students finish lessons, it may be waiting on the unit assessments.

### Open one student's results

Click a cell in 'Progress' to open the student's progress page. It shows the 'Final Grade', start and finish dates, 'Time Spent', and each answer: pick an item on the left and its questions appear on the right.

You can also start from the student:

1. Click 'Students' and click the student.
2. Under 'Assigned Courses', click the course title.

The student's progress page for that course opens.

To read students' answers after a session, open one student at a time; the 'Progress' grid shows each student's grade for each item. During a live session, if a question shows a groups icon, click it to see every student's response. You can see scores and grade answers in three places: 'Activity', the course's 'Progress' tab, and the student's progress page under 'Students'. In 'Activity', a finished assessment shows its score, and 'Answers are waiting for review and feedback' marks answers for you to grade.

### Grade answers and change a grade

An orange exclamation point ('Feedback required') means an answer is waiting for you to grade it. Ori calculates the grade without that question, so grading it is up to you.

To change a student's grade for an item, click the pencil below 'Final Grade' (tooltip 'Edit grade') on their progress page. The steps for both are in [Grade open-ended answers (the orange exclamation point)](https://support.orilearning.com/knowledge/grade-open-ended-answers?hsLang=en).

### Approve checkpoints

When a student reaches a checkpoint, approve it so they can move on to the next unit. Approve one student from their progress page, or several at once with 'Approve Checkpoints' on 'Progress'. - If you need Ori grades in Google Classroom, enter them there yourself.
