# Students can't type, click or move to the next slide

If a student can't move to the next page, check the mode. In 'Live Participation', students have no arrows: their page moves when you click the purple arrows.

**For:** teachers

### Check how the lesson was assigned

In a student-paced lesson, students move with the purple arrows at the bottom. Students can't open Front of Class lessons.

To let one student work through a live lesson on their own, assign the same lesson again as a 'Student-Paced Single Lesson' to only that student. The original session stays open until you complete or abort it.

Signing out during a session doesn't lose anything. The session keeps running, and answers students have submitted are kept.

### Make sure they submit each answer, then click the arrow

In a student-paced lesson, a student moves to the next page like this:

1. Answer the activity.
2. Click 'Submit Answer'. A check mark and 'Answer Submitted' appear.
3. Click the right arrow at the bottom of the page.

The button is 'Submit Answer'. It stays greyed out until the question is answered.

If a student sees **Not so fast... Please complete all activities on this page before moving on.**, they need to answer and submit everything on the page first, then click the arrow. This only happens in student-paced lessons where you left 'Require students to complete all activities before moving to the next page' on.

Some questions are marked as optional. Students can finish a lesson without answering those.

If a student skipped something, the last page lists what they missed with links back to those pages.

### Make sure they're answering inside the lesson

Students can only answer inside the lesson. 'Activity' and 'Courses' show their work but don't take answers.

Have the student open their work from 'Home':

1. Click 'Home' at the top.
2. Click 'Open' on the 'Continue Learning:' card, or open the item under 'My Assignments'.

### If a student sees the answers already filled in

If a student sees the answers already filled in, they're looking at a preview or your Front of Class screen, not their own lesson.

### If a student can't type in an answer box

If a student can't type in an answer box, reload the page. If that doesn't fix it, [send us a request](https://support.orilearning.com/open-a-support-ticket?hsLang=en) with a screenshot and the lesson name.

### Still need help?

- the student's username and class name
- the lesson name, and whether it's 'Live Participation' or student-paced
- a screenshot of the student's screen, with student names cropped out
- what the student clicked, and what happened
