Let students join with your school's email domain

To let teachers create accounts for new students, add your students' email domain under 'Rostering'. You can also send us a request.

For: district admins · Available when: your district adds students in Ori rather than syncing them from Clever or ClassLink

Add your students' email domain

  1. In the admin portal, click your district's name in the left navigation.
  2. Click 'Rostering'.
  3. Under 'Teacher Permissions', tick 'Create new student accounts'. A domain box appears, 'Accepted student email domains:'.
  4. Type the domain your students' email addresses use (for example, yourdistrict.org) and click 'Add'.
  5. Click 'Save'.

You'll see 'Rostering configuration saved successfully'.

Turning on 'Create new student accounts' also turns on 'Add existing students to classes'. You'll need to add at least one accepted student email domain before you can save.

Add every domain your students use

Domains must match exactly. students.yourdistrict.org and yourdistrict.org are different domains, so add each one your students use.

If Ori shows 'Invalid domain name'

Add your school's own student email domain, such as yourdistrict.org. If Ori shows 'Invalid domain name', that domain can't be used.
