A student didn't get their invitation email
If an email from Ori doesn't arrive, check the junk or spam folder and make sure the email address in Ori is spelled correctly. If it still doesn't come, ask your district IT team to allow Ori Learning email (orilearning.com).
For: teachers and school or district admins helping a student who is waiting for an invitation or a sign-in code
Work out which email the student is waiting for
- An invitation. If a student's account is created with the invite option, the student gets an email with a link to set their password.
- A sign-in code. The first time someone signs in with Google or Microsoft, Ori may email them a verification code to enter. If the code has expired, go back to the sign-in page and sign in again. More on sign-in: A student can't sign in.
If your district uses Clever or ClassLink
If your district uses Clever or ClassLink and a student is asked to verify their email, they may have clicked 'Sign In with Google' or 'Sign In with Microsoft' by mistake. Have them go back and use your district's Clever or ClassLink button.
If Ori won't accept the student's email address
If the address is rejected when you type it, its domain may not be accepted yet. Your district admin adds your school's email domain under 'Rostering': see Let students join with your school's email domain.
Ask your district IT team to allow Ori Learning email
What your IT team needs to allow is in Allowlist Ori's websites and email senders. If codes still don't arrive after your IT team changes the allowlist, try again later.
If codes still aren't arriving and your IT team says nothing is blocked, send us a request with your district name, one affected student's username and when they tried.
If the student can't wait for the email
If a student can't get the code and can't wait for your IT team, their school or district admin can set a password for them. The student then signs in with 'Username' and 'Password' instead of a 'Sign In with …' button. Admin steps: Set or reset a student's password (admins). Don't know who your admin is? We'll tell you their name.
If the set-password link has stopped working
If a student's create-password link has stopped working, it may have expired. Ask for a new one.
