Add a late student or more units to an existing assignment

If a student you added to your class doesn't have work you assigned earlier, add them to that assignment or include them in a new one.

Add a student to a session that's still running

A student you add to your class isn't automatically added to sessions you've already created, even ones assigned to the entire class. Edit the session to add them, or create a new assignment.

1. Open 'Sessions' (the list, not the session itself).
2. Click '...' on the session's card, then 'Edit...'.
3. Under 'Who is joining the session?', choose 'The entire class.', or choose 'Only the following students:' and tick the student.
4. Click 'Save'.

This works only while the session is in progress.

Give a student a lesson again after the session is completed

1. Click '+ New Assignment'.
2. Pick 'Student Paced', then 'Student-Paced Single Lesson'.
3. Pick the same lesson or assessment.
4. On 'Who's joining?', choose 'Only the following students:' and tick the student.
5. On 'Confirm Assignment', click 'Start'.

Add a student who joined late to a course assignment

1. Open 'Courses', click the course and open 'Progress'. If the student has a row, they're already assigned.
2. If not, click '+ New Assignment'.
3. Pick 'Student Paced', then 'Student-Paced Course Assignment'.
4. Pick the course and choose the lessons for the student.
5. On 'Choose students to assign', tick the student, then click 'Next'.
6. On 'Confirm Assignment', click 'Start'.

'Assignments Created!' appears, and the student gets a row in the same 'Progress' grid. When you assign a course, only students who don't already have it are listed. A student you add later gets the lessons and checkpoints you choose in that assignment, not a copy of the other students' settings.

Change which lessons, assessments and checkpoints are in a course assignment

Use this to add a unit, hide or unhide lessons and assessments (including a pre-assessment), or add and remove checkpoints.

1. Open 'Courses' and click the course.
2. Open 'Progress'.
3. Click the 'Edit student-paced assignment' icon on a student's row, or tick several rows and click 'Edit Assignments'.
4. Tick the items to include and set or clear checkpoints (or use 'Quick Actions'). Scroll through the whole course.
5. Click 'Okay'.

'Edit Assignments' becomes clickable once you tick at least one student. When you edit several students at once, your changes apply to all of them. If a student can't be selected when you edit several students at once, they may not have a student-paced course assignment.

Changes apply to what's ahead. If a student has already started a lesson, or it's next on their Home, unticking it won't take it away. Make changes before students reach that lesson.

Change one student's course assignment from the 'Students' tab

1. Open 'Students' and click the student.
2. Under 'Assigned Courses', click '...' on the course, then 'Edit Assignment...'.
3. Tick the units, lessons and assessments the student should have.
4. Click 'Okay'.
