Monitor student progress during a session or assignment

Open a session from 'Sessions' to see each student's progress and answers.

For: teachers

Watch a Live Participation session

During a 'Live Participation' session, the left panel shows who has joined ('Active Students', with how many activities each has done) and who was invited ('Invited Students'). On a question, click the students icon to see each student's answer and score.

Follow a Student Paced session

For a Student Paced session, click the people icon on the session card to see each student's progress percentage and who has been invited.

In a student-paced lesson, students click 'I'm Done' on the last page. Their answers and score are saved and appear in the course's 'Progress' tab.

Check a session's answers and finish it

Click a session's title to open its session page, which shows the session code and the students who have joined and been invited.

  1. Open 'Sessions'.
  2. Click the session to see each student's answers.
  3. Complete the session for students who haven't finished. The steps are in End, reopen or reset a session.

If a single-lesson session's results aren't in the progress report yet, open the session from 'Sessions' to see each student's progress and answers, and complete the session when you're done.

If a session's results aren't showing yet, the teacher who created it may need to complete the session first.

Give a student feedback on an answer

  1. Open the session from the course's 'Sessions' tab, or from 'Sessions' in the top bar.
  2. On a question, click the students icon.
  3. Click the student's name.
  4. Click 'Give Feedback' and type your feedback.
  5. Click 'Submit'.

You'll see 'Feedback submitted'.

While you review a student's answers, use 'Give Feedback' to send feedback, then click 'Submit'.

Follow your students' work on 'Activity'

On 'Activity', turn on 'Show tasks only' to see only items that need you, and use 'Filter by' to narrow by category, course or student. Switch classes with the class menu at the top.

The 'Activity' tab shows a student's work from course assignments and from single-lesson sessions. 'No activity yet' means the student hasn't done any work yet.

Approve a checkpoint

When a student reaches a checkpoint, approve it so they can move on to the next unit. The checkpoint shows in 'Activity' with 'Approve Now' and 'Review', and an orange flag marks it in the course 'Progress' tab.

To approve one student, click 'Approve Now' in 'Activity'. Or click the orange flag in 'Progress', review the student's answers and click 'Approve' on their progress page.

Approve checkpoints for several students at once:

  1. Open 'Courses', click the course and open 'Progress'.
  2. Tick the students.
  3. Click 'Approve Checkpoints'.

You'll see 'Checkpoints approved. The students can now progress in the course'. For grades, see See your class's assessment results (the gradebook).

Whether a student signed in

Ori doesn't show when a student signed in. The closest sign is the student's 'Sessions' tab, which lists a session once the student has opened it. Admins see only total sign-ins on the admin dashboard.
