Find your way around the teacher dashboard
After you sign in, you land on your dashboard. It shows your 'Recent Sessions' (once you've taught one), 'Getting Started' videos, and links such as 'Sample Pacing Guide', 'Visit Our Help Center' and 'Contact Support'.
For: teachers
What's across the top
Across the top of the teacher portal: 'Activity', 'Sessions', 'Courses' and 'Students', your class selector, '+ New Assignment', the '?' help menu, and a circle with your initial for your account and for switching portals.
To get back to your dashboard, click the Ori logo at the top left. Inside a course, you can also use the back arrow or the 'My Courses' link.
Click '?' at the top of the teacher portal for 'Visit Our Help Center', 'Contact Support', 'Sample Pacing Guide' and 'Give Feedback'.
The class dropdown
The class dropdown at the top of the teacher portal picks the class you're working with. 'Students', 'Activity', 'Sessions' and any new assignment all follow the class you've picked there. You can only assign to a class that's in that dropdown.
What each page is for
Activity
'Activity' shows what's happened in your classes; turn on 'Show tasks only' to see what needs your attention.
Sessions
'Sessions' lists the single-lesson sessions you've created, newest first. Each card shows the lesson, course, status, how many students are enrolled, the delivery mode and when you created it. Every single-lesson session you create appears under 'Sessions' at the top of the teacher portal, and on the 'Sessions' tab of its course.
Use 'Filter' on 'Sessions' to show sessions by course, by status ('In Progress', 'Completed', 'Aborted') or by delivery mode.
Courses
'Courses' shows the courses you can teach. Click 'Courses' to open 'My Courses'. Courses are grouped by curriculum, with a 'Hide expired courses' switch and a search box.
A course page shows the outline of units, lessons and assessments on the left, and tabs for 'Course Material', 'Skills Inventory Survey' (on courses that have one), 'Progress', 'Sessions' and 'Activity'.
Students
'Students' shows each student's progress and assigned courses. Click 'Students' and then a student to see their username and the 'Dashboard', 'Sessions', 'Activity' and 'Licenses' tabs.
Where to find progress
A course's 'Progress' tab has 'Export to Excel', 'Edit Assignments' and 'Approve Checkpoints'. On a student's page ('Students', then the student), each course under 'Assigned Courses' has a '...' menu with 'View Progress', 'Reset All Progress' and 'Edit Assignment...'.
Your account and signing out
To sign out, click your initials at the top right and click 'Sign Out'. In the teacher portal you go straight back to Ori's start page. In the admin portal and the 'Student Portal', you'll see 'You are now logged out.' To change your name, email or password, see Update your name, email or password.
